Our White Walls

I know you were deprived of pictures in my previous painting post, so I thought I'd share a few shots of our gorgeous gleaming walls with you now that I have this lovely new machine to organize all my photos! It's so fabulous to have decades worth of nasty kitchen grease stains covered!
Raf and "The Corner":
Next step: Floors! Dad's coming down the first weekend in October to help us lay them. Can't wait!
Actually, I guess the floors aren't quite the next step. First we have to get the studio room painted. We'll be hiring someone to take care of this...sooner than later!
Guess who loves wedding gifts? This Girl! SUPER excited about our shiny new bamboo dish strainer! Yes people, it's the little things...

Ashley's Bridal Shower

I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of pink, presents, and pre-blended mimosas at Ashley's Bridal Shower this past weekend! Here are some photo highlights. That's Ash and the hostess with the mostess, Nancy, above.

And these are the ladies of Ashley's family. Her sister, Alexis flew up with her daughters from Arizona for the party.
All the lovely ladies
Kelsey & Jules
Tracy and her fantabulous ribbon bouquet

Pretty in Pink table settings!
And a little favor sneak preview for you...
...more info on how to make coming soon to a blog post near you!

Just a few more weeks now, Ash!

Puppy Love

So, we're not technically in the market for a puppy at the moment, but I've loved Shiba Inus since the very first time I saw one. They're the perfect blend of not too big/not too small, and the fox look is bad ass enough that Raf could hold his head high on a walk.

We were hanging out with one at Kelli's Labor Day bbq, and her brother-in-law was telling us that it's quite the little rodent hunter. He called "MICE" at the dog and it was immediately on the most intense hunt! Considering our house's historical rat/mouse issues, I was pretty stoked about this perk.

That was, until there was yet another squirrel homicide on our property last weekend. A neighborhood cat came cruising across our fence with one in it's mouth....UGH! Worst house ever for the poor little guys! And now I'm worried that a Shiba Inu would be just a bit too excited to call our backyard home!

Maybe a mini Labradoodle instead? Gina's Nika is adorable, but I definitely can't handle the full-size version! These guys are cuties tho!

I think this one belongs to Perez Hilton...
Or how about this awesome little Chi Poo?!?! Something tells me Raf would be less than agreeable, but seriously...does it get cuter than this??

3 Things That Make Me Happy

1. Flash Mobs
2. Oprah
3. I Gotta Feelin'...WOO HOO!!!

Fighting Words

I heard the new Kenny Chesney/DMB song, I'm Alive, for the first time today. While I do love it, I couldn't help but wish it was only a DMB song. It would probably be an instant Top 10 favorite if it was just Dave. I'm going to cross my fingers that sometime in the next decade it ends up on a live album. Probably not possible, but a girl can hope.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kenny. Not like Jordan loves Kenny, mind you, but like a normal, rational human being does. And I'd like the song if it was Kenny solo too, but it's just so rare to get Dave this raw and mellow. {Sigh.} It's perfect. I just want to listen to the last half over and over and over.

Btw, I'm pretty sure my sister is not going to acknowledge that I was ever alive after this post.

MBP!

What could be the reason behind a face this excited, you ask? Why, a shiny new Macbook Pro, of course! Oh yes, I am THAT spoiled!!! (Thanks for the traditional Best Buy gift card, boys--it was perfect!)

Too pretty to touch!
According to my user manual, I found my one true love:

The best part, by far, has nothing to do with the fact that it's a Macbook. The best part is that I finally have a laptop at home with wireless internet...WOO HOO! You don't know how frustrating it is to have wireless at home with no machine to use it on! I now live in my happy place--I never leave the couch! It's so liberating to be out of that dark, hot bedroom!

I have to admit though, it hasn't all been chocolate and fairies. Yesterday it was. Yesterday I uploaded all our wedding photos (YAY to finally owning a DVD drive!) and learned how to tag them and merge them and spent hours ogling over how much better they look on a Mac.

Today, I've been trying to blog for the first time. And I've almost resorted back to the desktop beast in the bedroom on multiple occasions. Learning a Mac is like learning a foreign language! I'm pretty positive I'll never go back to a PC once I get the hang of it, but in the meantime it's SO frustrating!! I've typed "how to _________ on a mac" in google at least 82 times tonight.

I sure hope this learning curve thing goes quickly, cause I'm ready to have some fun on this thing!!

Glee

I'll admit it. Sometimes I miss TV. Ok there I said it--I'm human, get over it. Honestly, I think I mainly just miss long nights on the couch. But with no laptop with wifi, and the TV on the floor in the guest room until we install our hardwood and move in to the living spaces, there's not a whole lot of TV time on my calendar.

However, I decided to tune in tonight and caught the last half of Glee--new favorite show! It's too fun. And the best part? They closed out the show rockin a cover of Journey's Don't Stop Believin! Hell yeah! Definitely my song of the year. Where else did I hear it recently? Oh yeah! At an after hours spot in Vegas. Best memory ever following me everywhere. :)

Listen to the Glee version here.
Once I finally bite the bullet and buy my Macbook, the couch, wifi and hulu are going to be my best friends. Can't wait! Maybe I'll have to make that happen this weekend...

Wedding Bonanza: Dan & Julie

Believe it or not, we're not the only people that got married this summer. Crazy, I know. So, it's about time I caught you all up on the rest of the goodness we've been enjoying this summer!

Dan and Julie kicked things off in June in San Diego. Dan is one of Raf's boys from the high school crew. We had such a good time at their wedding! Highlights included their fancy first dance, the rockin DJ that kept every generation on the floor, the bubbles, the truffles, and their science teacher style Rabbi (who explained every tradition in detail)--he was classic!

This is the face I get to wake up to for the rest of my life. Lucky, huh?
I love this picture of them from their honeymoon. Congrats you two!!

Intense

Get excited, Raf, the hunt for a ceiling fan replacement is over! Ok, maybe not--but how intense is this guy!! Can be found via Etsy, here.
